Old Whitstable is an access problem before it is a gutter problem.
The alleys running down to the beach are too narrow for most access equipment, and a good deal of the older stock backs onto neighbours with no side gate. Working from ground level with a pole solves most of it — and where it genuinely will not reach, we would rather bring in the right high-access kit than lean a ladder somewhere it should not go. Tankerton and Chestfield are more straightforward.
St Mary's Catholic Primary School is one of ours, every year.
We fitted the school’s roofline — black ogee deep flow guttering, new black fascias, and the original rafters restored and painted black rather than boxed in flat — and we go back every year to clear its gutters. It is commercial work on a site that stays open, carried out from roof level with high-access equipment and fully insured. Two walkthrough videos of the finished roofline are on the site, unedited.
